Dr Amy Correy

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
MBBS MRANZCOG

Dr Amy Correy has been working in the speciality of Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2016 and will be awarded her fellowship (full specialist qualification) in February 2025. Between May 2024 and February 2025, specialist Dr Kirsten Connan will be the TasWomen supervisor during the final months of Amy’s advanced training. This provides the opportunity for collaboration from two doctors in the planning and care of your pregnancy or gynaecological care and is supported by RANZCOG (the postgraduate specialist training college).

Amy grew up in Hobart and obtained her medical degree from the University of Tasmania in 2013. As a junior doctor she worked regionally and rurally around Australia including in Darwin and Katherine in the NT and Lismore and Cooma in NSW, before returning to Tasmania in 2018 for specialist training. Amy relocated to the Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH), Melbourne, for advanced training, where she was a leader in caring for women in one of the largest birth centres in the country. At RWH she gained further experience in obstetric ultrasound and maternal fetal medicine and trained for six months in the Pelvic Floor Unit, where she developed an interest in managing pelvic floor conditions including pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Dr Correy joined TasWomen in May 2024.

Amy has expertise in managing a broad range of gynaecological conditions and a special interest in laparoscopic and vaginal surgery. She is passionate about obstetrics and looks forward to working with you and your family as you journey through your pregnancy, birth, and early newborn period. Amy believes in empowering women, informed decision making and working together to achieve optimal outcomes. Hobart has always been her home and she feels privileged in being able to provide care for Tasmanian women.
