Dr Min Giffard

Women's Health GP
FRACGP MBBS

Min grew up in Tassie but has been a nomadic soul over the last 20 years.  She graduated from UTAS in 2000 and spent several years in the hospital system in Hobart, Cairns and Darwin before starting her GP training in Perth and the Kimberley.  She has been privileged to see much of Australia from locums in various destinations around the country.  She has worked at Family Planning in both Perth, WA and Hobart.  In recent years, Tassie has beckoned her, and after 5 years in Launceston, it's time to head home to Hobart.

Over the last 2 years Min has been focusing her practice only on Women's Health and in 2021 she completed further training in acupuncture with the Australian Medical Acupuncture College.  She is excited to be able to incorporate this skill into her holistic approach.  Min enjoys seeing the various health needs of a woman from contraception including IUD and Implanon insertions to menopause. She appreciates that there is a forever shifting sense of balance a female experiences throughout her life, and is keen to see women empowered in their health and thus lives.

When Min is not at work she’s attempting to study, get out in the bush to go trail running and most recently restore balance to family life now that a puppy has joined the chaos of running a household.  She's aiming to get more local microadventures under her belt now back in Hobart.
